Placer Community Action Council, Inc. was created in 1969 as part of the Economic Recovery Act in the War on Poverty. Over the years, it has had many programs, but when it became a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit corporation, the emphasis was limited to preschool training for low-income children and their families.
In September 2001, PCAC adopted KidZKount as the marketing, advertising, fund development and community outreach name for the organization.
