Services for Pregnant Women

KidZCommunity serves pregnant women and their families in a variety of settings, and strives to have the greatest impact on children and families by offering supportive services as early in life as possible. Prenatal information is provided through home visits, and through support from our Family Engagement Advocates on the following subjects:

  • Baby Basics Curriculum; A Month to Month Guide to a Healthy Pregnancy
  • Fetal development, including the risks from smoking and alcohol
  • Labor and delivery
  • Postpartum recovery, including information, screening and support services on maternal depression
  • The benefits of breastfeeding

The prenatal period of growth and development has a lasting impact on a child’s potential for healthy growth and development after birth. KidZCommunity’s program for pregnant women provides services to pregnant women and their families. After baby is born families can enroll their infant into our Early Head Start programs through the child’s first three years of life. Early, continuous support and services provide the best opportunity for:

  • Healthy pregnancies and positive childbirth outcomes
  • Supportive postpartum care for the parents and child
  • Access to community resources
  • Fully involving fathers in the lives of their very young children
